Brian D. Castro, 65, of East Providence, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, October 8, 2026. He was the beloved son of the late George A. Castro and Avis L. Castro.Brian proudly served in the United States Coast Guard and dedicated more than 30 years of his life to serving as a Providence County Sheriff. After retiring, he found himself happiest near the water, spending his time fishing, boating, or simply watching the ocean. He loved to dance, sing, and enjoy a good time, and he especially cherished being surrounded by family and friends.Brian had a way of bringing light wherever he went. He was warm, welcoming, and genuinely cared about the people around him. He had a natural gift for bringing people together, making others feel included, and creating a sense of community wherever he went.
