Born September 13 1952 in Effingham SC she was the daughter of the late George Parker Jr. and the late Wilma Lamb Parker. Faye was a faithful member of Sumter First Church of God and a woman whose life was defined by love devotion and service to others. For Faye caring for her family was not just something she did it was who she was. She poured her heart into her home lovingly nurturing her husband of fiftyone years her children grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. Cooking and baking were her love language. She was a member of New Calvary Baptist Church and retired from Crescent Tool. Survivors include a son Tracy Hancock Jr. Suzie of Myrtle Beach two grandchildren Tiffany Weeden Thomas and Troy Hancock Shannon two brothers Edward Atkinson Jr. Ada and Billy Atkinson Wanda all of Sumter three sisters Eloise Thigpen Bobby of Charleston Betty Gomah of Charleston and Linda Walker of Summerville and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Friday February 20 2026 at New Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Ray Wiser officiating. Burial will be in the Wells Cemetery. Born in Laurens South Carolina Mary Emily was the daughter of the late Edward E. Wright Jr. and Margaret Emily Burns Wright. She graduated from high school in Chambly Georgia and received her degree in Education from the University of Tennessee where she was a proud member of Pi Beta Phi sorority. Mary Emily was a devoted military wife who supported her husband through many relocations both domestically and internationally. She was a dedicated teacher for over 28 years leaving a lasting impact on countless students in both America and abroad.
