Nancy Jean Walkowiak 89 of Dayton Tennessee passed away peacefully at Common Spirit Hospital in Chattanooga on August 16 2026. Nancy was born on June 3 1937 in Plymouth Michigan to the late Thomas and Inez Lock. In 1986 she and her family moved from Howell Michigan to the Dayton area where she made her home and became a cherished part of the community. Nancy was a devoted member of Cedar Ridge Seventhday Adventist Church in Georgetown Tennessee. Her faith was at the heart of her life and she dearly loved her Lord and Savior. She lived with a remarkable spirit of independence courage and determination never afraid to take life headon or tackle a challenge. Naomi Ruth Smith Harrison Grammie born April 25 1934 in Dayton Tennessee passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning August 19 2026. She retired after over 30 years at Dixie Yarns as a machine operator in Lupton City Tennessee. She enjoyed reading word search puzzles cooking cleaning making the best yellow cake with chocolate icing and taking care of her family. She especially enjoyed reading the Velveteen Rabbit to her granddaughters that she loved dearly. She adored her 4 great grandsons. She was a faithful member of Central Baptist Church where she served in the church nursery. She later was a member at Red Bank Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Lena Smith and brothers Bill Denton and Carl Smith. She is survived by her husband of 68 years Melvin Harrison.
