Kenneth L. Bates age 72 of Smithville died Wednesday morning April 1 2026 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro. Born June 27 1953 in Temperance Hall he was the son of the late Porter and Lorene Bates and was preceded in death by his brother Grady Dale Bates and sisters Helen Faye Self and Betty Jo Fuston Cantrell. Kenneth is survived by his son Daniel Rachel Bates and daughter. Crystal Redmon both of Lancaster grandchildren Joseph Simpson Bradley and John Redmon and his faithful dog and companion Jack.
