Rafael was first and always a family man. His love for Rozette was powerful and enduring rooted in laughter and friendship and deep devotion. Presley was his greatest pride and the light of his life. Everything he worked for fought for and dreamed about carried her name in his heart. He wanted her future to be bright and secure and he never stopped trying to build that for her. Gilbert Tovar Sr. of San Antonio TX passed away peacefully on the morning of Tuesday February 10th 2026 at the age of 85. Born on December 14th 1940 Gilbert was a beloved father husband and family man to the core. Mr. Tovar was retired from Northside ISD after devoting 26 years of work as a landscaper painter and mechanic. Those who knew Gilbert will remember him as an honest and straightforward man who always knew what he wanted. Behind his gruff exterior Gilbert was known for his incredible kindness his everlasting sense of humor and his love for his family and friends.
