Retired USAF Major George W. Leake age 91 of Texarkana Texas passed away peacefully at home on July 2 2026 while under the compassionate care of Concho Heart Hospice surrounded by his loving family. George was born on September 16 1934 in Talco Texas. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force retiring with the rank of Major after a distinguished military career. Following his military service he continued his lifelong commitment to excellence as an electrical engineer with AEPSWEPCO where he also retired after many years of dedicated service. A man of remarkable talent and endless curiosity George was happiest when creating building repairing or learning something new. He loved working with his hands and enjoyed gardening repairing clocks candle making wine making and a wide variety of other hobbies. He was also an accomplished cook who found joy in preparing meals for those he loved.…

Martha Dawn Trammell Klein 62 of Texarkana Texas passed away on Friday July 3 2026 at HomeSteady Memory Care facility in Katy Texas. Mrs. Klein was born February 11 1964 in Texarkana Texas. She was a retired teacher and a member of Williams Memorial United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her son Dustin Wills Klein her father Jerry Trammell her mother Carolyn Davis Trammell and her sister Tammy Trammell Burns. Survivors include her brother Jay and wife Pam Trammell of Texarkana Texas Niece Faith and husband Jordan Graves of Texarkana Texas and her nephew Justin Trammell of Baltimore Maryland. Services will be under the direction of East Funeral Home on Moores Lane. Graveside Service and burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday July 7 2026 at Chaplewood Cemetery with Jeb Cobb officiating.
