Sister Loretta Liebscher CDP formerly Sister Mary Alfrancine was influenced by her music teachers from kindergarten through college to dedicate her life to music. Her love and appreciation for music grace and talent for playing the piano live among us in the appreciation of music and through the piano and band instruments played by the hundreds of students she taught for over four decades. Born from the love of her parents Alfred Liebscher and Franziska Dittlinger in New Braunfels Texas on November 16 1927 she grew in love and grace with her siblings Maria and Carl. The strongest influence on her vocation occurred during her high school and college years when she attended the Summer School of Catholic Action CCSA. The Jesuit priests who lead this event convinced her of the value of religious life. Her studies at Our Lady of the Lake College provided her interaction with the institutions…
