Mabel Ruth Miller 81 of Desdemona passed away peacefully on March 27 2026. She was born on December 28 1944 in Richmond California to Gaius Dawson and Ruth Mae Short. Mabel grew up in Arkansas and Texas. Her parents were Cumberland Presbyterian ministers and she was raised in various communities where they pastored churches. The family moved to Petersburg Texas where she met Billy Miller. She graduated from Petersburg High School in 1962. Mabel and Billy were married on December 23 1962. They lived in Lubbock before moving to Channelview where they raised their daughters. Mabel took care of the girls cooking sewing attending their programs and activities. Later when the girls were married Mabel and Billy moved to Crosby to be closer to their families and enjoy the grandkids. After retiring they moved to Desdemona. Moss and Elizabeth Goble Moss. John married Joyce LaVon Ellis on May 28 1959 and they enjoyed a blessed marriage of sixtyfour years until her passing in 2023. John and Joyce were longtime members of The Assembly of God Church De Leon and they loved their church family dearly. John was employed with Prater Equipment as a heavy equipment operator for many years. He operated all kinds of equipment throughout his career and especially loved dirt work. John had a deep love of hunting fishing and spending time outdoors. John loved his family and always enjoyed spending time with each of them. LeeAnne M. Johnson 61 of De Leon peacefully passed away March 27 2026 in Weatherford. She was born October 15 1964 in Cable Illinois to Fred A. Moline and Marjarie J. Castor Moline. LeeAnne lived in De Leon for over thirty years and raised her sons here. She was a longtime devoted member of De Leon First United Methodist Church. She loved her church family as her own. LeeAnne enjoyed growing and tending to her plants and flowers. She enjoyed crocheting and made many beautiful pieces for her family to cherish always. LeeAnne also enjoyed camping when she was younger. She was a loving mother and a special friend to many. She will be deeply missed.
