Francis James Pelowski of Red Oak Texas known as "Ski" by family and friends passed away on August 7 2026 at the age of 81. Ski was born on March 27 1945 in Winona Minnesota to John and Frances Pelowski. He grew up in Trempealeau Wisconsin where he found no shortage of adventures. Ski joined the Navy at age 17 after his Navy service he reenlisted into the U.S. Air Force. He retired from Dyess Air Force Base in Abilene Texas in 1983 after 20 years of military service. He then worked as a boat mechanic and parts manager first at the Fishing Village Marina in Abilene Texas and later in Dallas Texas. Betty Jane Wilhoite Parks 88 of Ferris Texas passed away after suffering a stroke in July and a subsequent heart attack on August 17th 2026. She was a cherished Mom Nanny and friend. She will be deeply missed. Betty was born on April 17 1938 in Reagor Springs Texas to Samuel and Beatrice Holly Wilhoite. She grew up in a large family of farmers working the land where they grew what they needed and picking cotton from a young age. After living in several cities across the Metroplex she and her late husband Jim moved to Ferris Texas in 1979. She began working at the Superette and then Davids Grocery Store where she never met a stranger. Maria D. Cardenas of Fate Texas passed away peacefully on August 16 2026 at the age of 64. She was born on November 10 1961 and was one of seventeen siblings. Maria was truly the heart of her family. She had a special way of bringing people together and family gatherings were often centered around her. Her home and her presence were places where family could gather share a meal laugh and simply enjoy one anothers company. She was a strong and devoted mother who always put her family first.
