With broken hearts we announce the passing of our beloved Melissa Lynn Chula SalasTillman who passed away on August 1 2026 in Houston Texas after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 43 years old. Melissa was born on April 22 1983 in Brazosport Texas to Isidro and Gloria Salas Jr. From an early age she lived life on her own terms. Affectionately known as Chula she was fearless fiercely independent and unapologetically authentic. She marched to the beat of her own drum and those fortunate enough to know her wouldnt have wanted her any other way. For years Melissa embraced adventure and made unforgettable memories with friends especially during her cherished trips to the Texas Renaissance Festival. She possessed a vibrant spirit an infectious sense of humor and a heart that was far bigger than she ever let on. Everything changed when she met the love of her life…
