On February 13, 2026, Inez (Nell) McNew Burgess, 83, went home to be with her Lord and Savior. She was born August 29, 1942, in Lamesa, Texas, to Sadie McNew and J.H. McNew. Her unwavering faith guided her through life, and she poured her heart into her family, church, and community, sharing the love of Jesus with everyone she met.Nell met Jerald Burgess in 1960, and six weeks later they were married. In 1973, they made their home in Big Spring, where they raised their three children; Tammy, Charlotte, and Robert. Together, they built a home filled with love and faith, nurturing their children to grow in Christ’s love.Her world revolved around family.
