Haydn Algardi "Chip" Fox Jr. passed away peacefully on August 17 2026 at the age of 78 with his wife Donna by his side. Born November 30 1947 in Grand Rapids Michigan Chip lived a life shaped by curiosity faith education and an enduring desire to understand the world around him. He was a scientist and theologian a professor and author a teacher and lifelong student. But to those who loved him his most important roles were much simpler husband partner brother uncle stepfather grandfather colleague teacher and friend. Chip shared his life with his wife Donna Smith. Together they built a marriage and a life filled with ideas projects challenges adventures work laughter and all the ordinary moments that become extraordinarily precious when someone we love is gone.
