Thomas Tommy Gerald Coots 58 of Winnie died Friday February 13 2026. He was born to Adella Pierce Coots and Alfred Lewis Coots on January 1 1968 in Riverside California. Survivors include wife Tammy Abshier Coots children T.J. Coots and his wife Megan and Ashley Coots and her fianc Ty Mullins and five grandchildren Troy Coots Logan Coots Makayla Cravy Kennedi Mullins and Logan Mullins. He is preceded in death by his parents brothers Rusty Coots Mike Coots David Coots Daniel Coots and sister Tina Matthews. A gathering of Mr. Coots family and friends will be from 500 p.m. until 700 p.m. Friday February 27 2026 at Broussards 134 West Buccaneer Drive Winnie. His funeral will be 100 p.m. Saturday February 28 2026 at Broussards. His interment will follow at China Cemetery China.

Johannah Cunningham Phelan

One of 13 children of Anthony McDade Phelan and Katherine Huey Phelan Johannah Cunningham Phelan was born in Beaumont Texas in 1933 as both an early gift of Christmas and her fathers Birthday. A wonderful life that touched so many people as summed up by a friend She was an independent thinker with integrity as a spine and compassion for a heart. A lady of many talents. Johannah Phelan graduated from St. Anne Catholic School St. Anthony High School and University of St. Thomas. She went on to earn a Master of Theological Study from the University of Notre Dame and attended Pastoral Counseling Institute at University of St. Thomas. After completing her education Johannah entered the convent and was consecrated into the Congregation of Sisters of St. Mary of Namur where she served for 15 years.
