Ellen Ungashick, 83, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2026.She was born on November 20, 1942, in Boston to John Ward French and Helen Elizabeth Mackie, and grew up in Cleveland with her younger sister, Judy. She earned a nursing degree from Mount St. Joseph University in Cincinnati in 1964.Ellen worked as a nurse and later went on to build a very different kind of career, becoming an accomplished architect, interior designer, and business owner. She spent many years in St. Louis, where she ran her own design business and became a familiar presence in the community. After moving to Georgia, she became a certified master gardener and oversaw the Atlanta Flower Show, bringing together her love of design, creativity, and people.Ellen had an artistic sensibility and a natural eye for beauty, this was reflected in her many creative pursuits, which included everything from making beautifully hand-crafted dolls, to refurbishing…
