Peter Paul Sheremetta passed away peacefully on October 6, 2026, at the age of 78.Originally from Brooklyn, New York, Peter spent most of his life in Ellenville and resided in Boerne, Texas, since 2024. Known for his quick wit, generous heart, and welcoming personality, he was often the life of the party, always ready with a good story, joke, or laugh.Peter proudly served for 25 years as a corrections officer with the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision at Eastern Correctional Facility, retiring in 2009. He formed lasting friendships with many colleagues, several of whom became lifelong friends.He enjoyed fishing, building and collecting model cars, playing poker, reading magazines, and spending time with family. He especially cherished family gatherings, sitting on the porch with a cold Bud Light, walking his beloved dog, and watching his grandchildren, Kiley and Ryan, grow.Peter is survived by his loving wife, Virginia…
