Beatriz was born on October 30 1933 in Pedras Negras Coahuila Mexico to Tomas and Eloisa Rodriguez. She moved to Uvalde at the age of 19 years old where her mother had established her family. In 1958 Beatriz met and married Manuel Parras. They moved to Lubbock TX where all their six children were born. The family later moved to Slaton TX in 1973. Beatriz loved to learn and she taught herself how to read and write in English. While raising her children they all did well academically. She also worked with her grandchildren and helped them gain strongstudy skillsbecause thats what you did at Grandmas house. She gained her U. S. citizenship in the 90s. She invested her time and effort into raising her children and dearly loved them and found great delight in her grandchildren too.
