Lonnie Max Heffernan 78 lifelong resident of Sweetwater passed away Monday March 30 2026 at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene TX. Funeral services will be held 1100 A.M. Friday April 3 2026 at McCoy Chapel of Memories with Dr. J. T. Thornton officiating Interment will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home. There will be a family visitation Thursday evening from 6pm to 8pm at the Funeral Home. Lonnie was born August 1 1947 in Sweetwater Texas to Otis Lee and Arlice Maxine McFaul Heffernan. He was a graduated of Sweetwater High School in 1965. He married Vivian Hale April 6 1968 in Roby Texas. Lonnie worked 45 years for Georgia Pacific before retiring August 1 2013.
