Richard Wickie Wayland Carter 90 of Orange Texas passed away on April 1 2026 at Sabine Place in Orange. Funeral services will be held at 1200 p.m. Monday April 6 2026 at McDonald Memorial Baptist Church in West Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Tommy Anthony. Visitation will begin prior to the service at 1100 a.m. Monday April 6 2026 at McDonald Memorial Baptist church in West Orange. Born in Doyline Louisiana on July 12 1935 he was the son of Richard William Carter and Kathryn Eleanor Wilson Carter. A graduate of LaSalle Parish Highschool he then moved to Orange in 1960 to work at DuPont as a lab analyst. Wickie retired early at 49 and took a job at Cain Chemical Inc. as a contractor. He later worked as an independent contractor for over 30 years building more than fifteen houses in the Orange and Sabine County areas. He loved…
