also known as Momo and Great Grandmother was born in Dallas Texas on May 28 1930 at Methodist Hospital.She passed into her heavenly reunion with family and friends on April 12 2026.Her youth was spent in the Preston Hollow area of Dallas where she attended a parochial grade school. She graduated from Hillcrest High School with 27 others in her class.Gloria watched Dallas grow from a large town to the metropolis it is today. After high school Gloria worked at several jobs and later became employed at State Farm Insurance Company as a file clerk. There she met John W. Smith Jim. They became soul mates and were soon married.They lived in south east Dallas where they began their 70 years together.Gloria spent those years caring for her familya task she dearly loved. Hermelinda was born on October 28 1940 in Mexico to Magdaleno Ortiz and Concepcion Saenz Ortiz. She was the oldest of ten children with six sisters and four brothers. Raised by her carpenter father and homemaker mother Hermelinda learned the values of faith hard work compassion and service qualities she carried with her throughout her life. Hermelinda married Francisco Castro DeLara a U.S. Army veteran who served during the Korean War era. Together they raised four sons Frank Jr. Daniel Larry DeLara Christopher Edward DeLara and Felipe Duane DeLara. She was a beloved mother grandmother greatgrandmother and greatgreatgrandmother and her family was one of the greatest joys of her life. After her children began attending school Hermelinda started her career in healthcare at John Peter Smith Hospital where she cared for infants. Born on May 27 1937 in Haynesville Louisiana she was the cherished daughter of Emmett and Catherine Tayl Mrs. Tucker I love you. You were my 3rd grade teacher at Tuba City Boarding School. You made me feel so special. You called me My teachers pet. I didnt really know what that meant but I loved to help you with everything. Thank you forever for making me feel sooo special. It was because of you that I loved working with children. I often wondered what happened to you and where you went. Rest in Heavenly peace.
