Saul William Leyva beloved father papa and friend 72 of Iowa Park TX passed away on Monday March 30 2026. Saul was born on August 17 1953 in Chicago Illinois. He was a part of the last official draft and went into the United States Air Force where he served from 19721979 as a weather equipment technician and received the National Defense Service Medal AF Longevity Service Award and the AF Good Conduct Medal with one oak leaf cluster. After being honorably discharged he went into civil service where he served 40 years throughout Chanute AFB Lowry AFB while finishing at Sheppard AFB. Saul liked to volunteer with Christmas in April as well as helping to coach various sports such as football at Petrolia. He went on to earn a masters degree from the University of North Texas and was later awarded an honorary Doctorate of Music from the Conservatorio Nacional de Msica in Mexico City a testament to his remarkable contributions to the field.
