Henry Mendoza Leija 78 of Vernon Texas passed away on Wednesday February 11 2026 in Wichita Falls Texas Funeral services will be held on Wednesday February 18 2026 at 100pm at Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Eastview Cemetery under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home. Henry was born July 15 1947 to the late Nicholas Leija and the late Maria Mendoza. Henry was a passionate musician who dedicated his life to writing and composing songs expressing his deep love for music. Known for his everpresent smile he also had a great fondness for cars. For many years Henry was the proud owner and operator of Henrys Paint and Body. In the late 1970s he and his brothers known as Los Hermanos Leija recorded several 45s and an album with their music now featured in the Arhoolie FoundationFrontera Collection on YouTube.
