DJ was born in Burlington Vermont to Wayne D. Reed Sr. and Patricia A. Memmo on January 2 1966. He grew up on Crombie Street in Burlington and attended Burlington schools. At a young age he developed a deep love for the outdoors. He excelled in hunting fishing archery and camping and this passion became a lifelong pursuit. An accomplished outdoorsman he proudly harvested at least one whitetail deer each season. In addition to his devotion to the outdoors DJ enjoyed martial arts and later shared his knowledge and skills by teaching others. After high school DJ obtained his Commercial Drivers License CDL and spent most of his adult career as a truck driver for several companies including HP Hood Nabisco and SSTA.
