Shirley Mae Melton age 83 of Woodlawn Virginia passed away Thursday February 12 2026 in the Twin County Regional Hospital. Mrs. Melton was born September 21 1942 in West Virginia to Cloive and Callie Simpkins Lester. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother William Lester. She is survived by her husband Pete Melton of Woodlawn Virginia daughters Dana Anders Marie Hill Karen Pony Eggers sons and daughtersinlaw Charles Lorinda Hazelwood Johnny and Cathy Hazelwood Tony and Gina Hill brothers and sistersinlaw James and Sylvia Lester Fred and Joyce Lester eleven grandchildren fifteen greatgrandchildren sister inlaw Patricia Lester. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from four until six at the VaughanGuynn Funeral Home. Burial will be at a later date in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Bluefield West Virginia.
