Jean Elizabeth Callison passed away on March 18 2026 at her home in the Coxs Chapel Community Mouth of Wilson VA. A native of Gaffney SC she was the daughter of T.C. Callison Jr. and Helen Vassy Callison. Jean was a loving and devoted mother grandmother sister aunt teacher writerdiarist and musician. Teaching was her calling music her talent and her passion. She played a halfdozen stringed instruments and had a lovely moving singing voice that she shared with family and friends alike over many musical sessions in the Grayson County and Washington D.C. area. For years she was a faithful member of the Independence Courthouse Jam in Independence VA. Jean was a graduate of the University of North CarolinaGreensboro and a former faculty member at Glade Valley School Sparta NC and Dean of Students for Chatham Hall Chatham Va. Donald Leslie Treat

Donald Leslie Treat III age 76 of Elk Creek Virginia passed away at his home on Thursday evening March 26 2026. He was born in St. Paul Minnesota on January 4 1950 to Donald Leslie and Alice Mahachk Treat. Following his high school career he enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served with distinction until his honorable discharge. He later completed two associate degrees. He served as a master carpenter and was influential in recruiting and training young enthusiasts interested in a career in carpentry. He will be remembered for his dedicated work ethic. As a young man he completed his Eagle Scout Merit Badge which began a tradition to set the standard high for future projects in which he was involved for the remainder of his life.
