Joan Bruegging Ruck, 85, of Harrisonburg, VA died Thursday, October 8, 2026, surrounded by a family who loved her immensely and will miss her evermore. Joan was born on January 16, 1941, in Jefferson City, MO, the daughter of Harold J. Bruegging and Eva L. Harryman Bruegging, and the sister of Jerry Bruegging, all deceased.Joan attended Catholic Schools throughout her childhood and graduated from Helias High School in 1959. She received a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Missouri (Columbia) in 1963. She was a member of Chi Omega National Women’s Fraternity, where she held the offices of Assistant Treasurer and Secretary. She entertained at the piano during rush parties, and also at some of the various political rallies on campus. Her love of music dated back to her early childhood, when she had studied classical piano for 8 years. She later began playing the piano by ear,…
