The family of Joan “Jo” Ruth Sustek are deeply saddened to announce her passing on March 15, 2026.Born in San Diego, CA on October 28, 1938, to Ruth and Earle Bradshaw, the family traveled extensively due to Earle being in the Navy. Jo graduated high school in the Philippines within a whopping class of 3! She started her career in the government at the Pentagon at the age of 19 and became the administrative secretary to the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Later she worked at the National Park Service and then finally retired from the Geological Survey. Jo was a diligent public servant: a hard worker, organized and always attentive to the details.Jo and her wonderful husband Mike lived in Neersville, VA for 30+ years and most recently they lived in Harpers Ferry, WV for the last 23 years.
