It is with heavy hearts but joyful remembrance that we announce the peaceful passing of our mother, Nancye Coffey Weisberg, in Virginia Beach, Virginia on June 29th, 2026. A youthful 96 she has joined the love of her life, her husband Howard, on his birthday and who preceded and paved the way for her transition into the next phase of life.She was born in 1930 in the beautiful mountains of Balsam, North Carolina. It is with little doubt that the scenic memories of her childhood fueled her love for art which she channeled into a lifetime of painting with oil and charcoal. Anyone who came in contact with her always left with a wonderful painting to mark the occasion. She not only recorded nature on canvas, she also drew nature to her. Dan Blount, 87, of Virginia Beach, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 1, 2026 while surrounded by his loving family.Jesus Christ was the strength of his life. For many years, he was a devoted member of Laurel Avenue Church of Christ in Chesapeake, where he faithfully served in various church positions. For the past 30 years, he was a member of First Baptist Church of Norfolk. He and his loving wife faithfully led their children and grandchildren to love the Lord. His deep faith and love of family frequently brought everyone together; they especially loved hosting their annual Independence Day family reunion and pool party. Our beloved Josefina Rabadan Funkhouser, aged 85 to the day, passed on June 24th, 2026, surrounded by her loving family and friends in Virginia Beach, VA. She was born on June 24th, 1941, in Madrid, Spain, to Maria Ramona Torres Perez and Antonio Rabadan Calcano.She met her devoted husband, MSgt (Ret.) Lindon Jackson Funkhouser, on a blind date, and was soon thereafter married on Feb 24th, 1962 in Algeciras, Spain. She bravely raised their three children, while her husband served 24 years as a Marine with three combat tours in Vietnam.She took delight in providing for her family as well as routinely cooking wonderful Spanish dishes for them. She never wasted an opportunity to spoil her family with gifts. She also enjoyed beautiful clothes, jewelry, and her collection of many varied shoes.
