He formerly attended Freedom Baptist Church Front Royal. Survivors include his fiance Kim Wilson two sons Matthew Chavis and Wade Chavis daughter Danielle Walker two sisters Monica Turner and Sharon Bright and two grandchildren Torrie Walker and Dixie Walker.
