Ernest Edward King, 86, of Canvas, West Virginia, died October 10, 2026, at CAMC Memorial, Charleston, West Virginia.He was born August 22, 1940, at Leatherbark, Calhoun County, West Virginia, a son of the late Otha and Amy Queen King.He graduated from Wirt County High School. On December 24, 1966, he married the prettiest woman he had ever seen. He served his country in Vietnam in the US Army 1st Battalion Signal Corp. He retired from Rockwell International, Newark, Ohio. Ernest enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, and spending time with family.He is survived by his wife, Verlis King; two children Kimberly (Casey) Cline and Edward King; three grandchildren Joseph (Monique) Dye, Kaleb Messina, and Rein (Hannah) Martin; five great-grandchildren Celiah and Astraia Martin, Liam and Crew Dye, and Caroline Messina; brother Gary (Karen) King; sisters Jeanie (Wayne) Houck, Joanne (Dave Edwards) King, and Jeannette (Dwayne) Peterman; and several nieces and nephews.In addition…
