James C. Benefiel III 51 of Underwood Indiana passed away Monday August 17 2026 at University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville Kentucky. Born January 7 1975 in New Martinsville West Virginia he was the son of the late James C. Benefiel II and Jane Wagner Benefiel. James loved to drive Late Model dirt track cars for the B3 car. Also he sponsored through his Big B Game Farm. Racing was more than a pastime to him and it reflected his energy determination and love for the excitement of the track. He enjoyed the friendships formed through racing and the thrill of being part of a team. Those who shared that interest with him will remember his enthusiasm and the pride he took in doing something he truly loved. Linda Lou Jackson 79 of New Martinsville WV left this world on August 19 2026 while at Ruby Memorial Hospital. Linda was born October 6 1946 in New Martinsville WV daughter of the late Dale and Audrey Lancaster Midcap. She was a homemaker by trade who loved her kids and grandkids. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed taking care of wildlife. She also enjoyed to hunt and be outdoors. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband Jesse Jackson and brothers Robert and Roger Midcap. Surviving are her children Jesse Sheri Jackson of Paden City WV and Jodie Steve Melott of Elkfork WV four grandchildren Lasadia Cory Coble Tiffany Matthew Throckmorton Preston Wedekamm and Audri Jackson eight great grandchildren William Aspyn Leo Braxton McKenzie Baylor Ledger Zyler and one on the way sisterinlaw Martha Micap and several nieces nephews and cousins.
