​Ronald E​. King, age 86 of Turtle Lake died Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at his home. He was born June 26, 1939 in Turtle Lake, WI to Erv​ and ​Betty (Gaffney) King.Ronald was a lifelong resident of Turtle Lake, and a lifelong farmer. He dedicated many years as a 4H leader, member of the Turtle Lake school board, and an elected board member with AMPI. ​He also served as a member of the ASCS Ag Agency for six years, attending many meetings.When he wasn't farming or volunteering, he enjoyed cheering on the Packers, woodworking, being outdoors, and spending time with his family - including his dog, Archie.He is survived by his wife, of 66 years, Barbara; children, Bruce (Heather Dawe) King, Jeanne (Keith) Kerr, and Brian (Kristin) King; 9 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren; sister-in-laws, Linda Thuftin, Sandra Kahl, and Debra (Brad) Hemauer; brother-in-laws, Bernard (Nancy) Kahl, Mike Kahl, and Jeff…

Judy May Effertz, age 64 of Cumberland went to meet her Lord and Savior on Monday, March 30, 2026 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Barron, surrounded by her loving family and coworkers after a resilient two-year bout with cancer.Judy was born on May 31,1961 to Harold and JoAnn (Kolstad) Catlin, and grew up in the Turtle Lake area, graduating in the Class of 1979. She was blessed with three daughters, Melissa, Christine, and Becca, and would go on to become a Registered Nurse.Those who knew Judy appreciated her witty sense of humor, contagious laugh, and her compassionate and nurturing soul. She was well known for extending her love with a tray of cookies for any occasion. She was a servant to many, not only in her personal life but also in her nursing career.
