Mercedes Louise (Dieckman) Wickstrom was born to Walter and Amelia (Haas) Dieckman at their home in Emerson Community, Cumberland, WI, on August 11, 1927, the youngest of six daughters. She attended Emerson School and graduated from Cumberland High School in 1945. Mercedes was a baptized and confirmed member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, in Cumberland. On June 15, 1946, she married Roy Wickstrom at St. Paul Lutheran Church. They later joined Trinity Lutheran Church in McKinley. She was employed for thirteen years as a night server at the Tower House, then retired after thirteen years at 3M in Cumberland. She devoted her spare time to her family and enjoyed entertaining family gatherings. The grandchildren and great grandchildren were all so special to her. Roland James Strickland, 69 of Cumberland passed unexpectedly Tuesday May 12, 2026 at Marshfield Hospital in Marshfield, WI. After a year of struggles and blessings from a motorcycle accident in May of 2025, Roland had complications following another back surgery.Roland had numerous passions in life. Hunting, Fishing, Playing Guitar, Riding Motorcycle with “brothers”, and he was gifted in custom steel fabrication and custom building. These all came second to his true passion of spending time with his grandsons. No one told stories like grampa Rol. His imagination rivaled the greats, and all his grandsons knew they couldn’t believe anything grampa said.Roland was many things. Arthur W. Berlin, age 83, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 11, 2026, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth. A beloved husband, cherished father, grandfather, brother, coach, and friend who dedicated his life to his family, faith, students, athletes, and community. Art will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.He was born on April 26, 1943, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to William and Martha (née Pierzchalski) Berlin, and was raised on Tichigan Lake in Racine County. He graduated from Waterford Union High School, where he participated in track, football, and wrestling. Following his graduation from high school in 1961, Art had planned to enlist in the United States Marine Corps, but his plans changed when at just 19 years old he suffered a catastrophic injury to his arms in an accident at Burlington Mills Inc., where he worked at the time.
