Nancy Posta age 80 a lifelong resident of the SpoonerShell Lake Area died on Friday August 7 2026 at Shell Lake Health Center. Nancy was born on February 20 1946 in Madison Wisconsin and moved to Spooner while an infant. She attended and graduated from the Spooner Schools in 1964. After high school she was an aide at the Spooner Hospital before taking a job at the Spooner Schools as a cook in 1974 where she would work until her retirement in 2005. She was united in marriage to Leo Jack Posta in Spooner on February 20 1988. Many fond memories were made at the family cabin on Lipsett Lake a cabin her parents owned and was passed down to her. Donna Rose Hyatt Keller 88 from Buffalo passed away August 10 2026 under the wonderful care of the Johnson County Hospital and hospice care. Family was by her side as well. Funeral services will be held August 15 at 10am at the Harness Funeral Home Chapel in Buffalo with Pastor Paul Gilbert officiating. Prior to the funeral services visitation will be held on August 14 from 38pm and 810am August 15. Visitation will also be held from 911am on Tuesday August 18 at Hayward Funeral Home in Hayward. Shirley Jean Moreland age 75passed away peacefully August 17 2026 at DoveHealth Care in Rice Lake WI. Shirley was born February 9 1951 to Loren and Margerie Moreland in Spooner Wisconsin. Most of her early life was split between Spooner and Eau Claire. She graduated from Spooner High School and from Barron Community College with an emphasis in accounting. After graduation Shirley worked in Minneapolis for a short period before returning to Spooner where she remained for rest of her life. Most of Shirleys professional career was spent at the Prime Bar and Grill in Trego where she tended bar and helped with the bookkeeping.She was a rabid Badger Packers and Brewers fan attending many Green Bay home games. On Sunday August 16 2026 Gary Murphy left our physical world and flew free. Gary was born to Brendan and Hedi Murphy on July 2 1948 in Eau Claire WI the oldest of 6 children. He paid his way through Regis High School and UWEau Claire by working at McDonalds. Through a mutual friend he met his soulmate Beth Stiefvater. They married before he was sent to Vietnam where he served as an Army chaplains assistant. Following honorable discharge he completed degrees in Psychology at UW Stevens Point and School Psychology at UW Eau Claire. Upon inheriting the Murphy family farm near Trego Gary and Beth decided to live a rural upnorth life loving the space the wildlife and the downtoearth people. Ruth was born on May 9th 1940 to parents John Theresa Dahl Schultz in Rice Lake Wisconsin. She started her early school days in the Township of Madge Wisconsin. After moving to Spooner she continued her education becoming a member of the graduating class of 1958. It was there she met the love of her life Robert Lombard who she thought was so cool. As she began her brief college career at UW Superior Bob and Ruth eloped to Pine City Minnesota on June 7th 1960 lovingly shared 55 years of marriage until Bobs passing in 2015. She got married to Tommy Robin. She then went to work at the Acadiana Bank and worked as a Teller until taking a job at the First National Bank in West Lake where she was an Assistant Manager.
