Lyle Eugene Chandler, of Hixton, WI, passed away on March 13, 2026, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire at the age of 83.Lyle was born on September 18, 1942, to Wayne and Laura (Christianson) Chandler in Black River Falls. He was one of 9 children. He grew up in the Hixton area and attended school in Hixton.After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the Army. He served from 1960 until 1963. He was a sharpshooter and worked in the motor pool as an auto mechanic. The majority of his time in the military was spent overseas.On April 30th 1970 he married Elaine Nelson and they began their adventure together.Lyle worked as a mechanic at Waughtal Implement and then worked on the massive dump trucks at the Jackson County Iron Mine in Black River Falls until it closed.
