John J. Ellenbecker a lifelong resident of Sturgeon Bay passed away on June 30 2026 following a short illness. He was born on December 12 1937 in Sturgeon Bay to John and Mary Bartl Ellenbecker. A proud veteran John served his country in the United States Army during the 1950s stationed in Germany. He married his beloved wife Judy Ellenbecker in December 1963 together building a family and a life centered around faith hard work and the water. John dedicated his professional life to his craft as a master carpenter lending his exceptional skills to Christy Corporation Bay Shipbuilding and Fincantieri Bay Shipbuilding where he dedicated over forty years. His craftsmanship extended far beyond the shipyards he could build or fix anything around the house and skillfully renovated multiple family homes. Vicki Polcen

Vicki L. Polcen 68 of Sturgeon Bay passed away with her family by her side on Tuesday afternoon June 30 2026. She was born on September 6 1957 in Algoma daughter of the late Marlin and Norma Petry Kay. Vicki was a graduate of Southern Door High School with the class of 1975. She attended Northeast Wisconsin Technical College and received an associates degree in hospitality and tourism management. Vicki was employed for many years at The Lodge at Leathem Smith in Sturgeon Bay. She loved cooking and baking and paired her love of antiquing by collecting many kitchen themed treasures. Vicki also enjoyed art and gardening. Survivors include her two children Adam Melissa Polcen Sussex and Amanda Clint Rodd Polcen Sturgeon Bay her fianc Melvin Thunander also of Sturgeon Bay seven grandchildren Jack Alexis Alaina David Jordyn Everett and Madalyn three brothers and one sister Michael Kay Cadott Thomas…
