Barb was born and raised in Fort Atkinson and attended Fort Atkinson High School graduating with the Class of 1971. Barb lived briefly in Watertown after graduation before life took her to Madison. While in Madsion Barb was a caregiver to a close friend for many years. She went on to care for others as she could. Barb made many friends and acquaintances over her years in Madison. She had fond memories of traveling and spending time with her cat 6Toes. Barb also liked to dabble in gardening. Later in life Barb retired to the Northwoods living in Minocqua. Barb enjoyed spending time with her special friend Ron and enjoyed Nature right outside her window. Barbs health deteriorated over time. COPD got the best of her. She moved into Rennes Health Rehab Center in Rhinelander. Barb was happy with Rennes. The staff was caring and she made new friends. Ron…

She was baptized and confirmed at St. Pauls Evangelical Lutheran Church and graduated from Fort Atkinson High School. She earned a B.A. in Music Education from the University of Wisconsin Madison and could play many musical instruments. She managed the Arthur Murray dance studio and held various musical positions directing many choirs in the Madison area including at Midvale Community Lutheran Church. She also worked at Midwest Financial Group and taught insurance prelicensing classes. Janice was predeceased by her parents her brother Jerry Strunk and her sister Joyce Smith Bare. She is survived by her sister Judy Tom Hartel of Augusta sisterinlaw Arlene Strunk of Fort Atkinson eight nieces and nephews and many greatnieces and nephews. Carols ability to strike up a conversation with anyone exemplified her outgoing and loving nature.
