David Lewis Hering 92 passed away peacefully on February 15 2026. David was born on April 19 1933 in Sparta Wisconsin to August Hering and Ruth Telyea Hering. In August of 1961 he began his long and distinguished career as Monroe County Clerk faithfully serving the citizens of Monroe County for 35 years until his retirement in January 1996. He took great pride in his work and was known for his steady leadership integrity and dedication to public service. David shared 72 devoted years of marriage with his beloved wife Dorothy Dot Spink Hering. Together they built a life centered on family loyalty and quiet joy. Dave was a softspoken man with a gentle sense of humor that those closest to him cherished deeply. Larry Leroy Leland, 74, of Westby, WI, passed away Sunday, February 15, 2026, at Norseland Nursing Home in Westby, WI.He was born on February 23, 1951, to John and Olga (Hanson) Leland at the Viroqua Hospital. Larry graduated from Brookwood High School in 1970. During and after high school, he was his father’s right-hand man on the farm and was always ready to lend a hand wherever needed. In the summers, Larry worked just up the road at Brush Creek Campground, where he maintained the grounds. He truly enjoyed his time at the campground. He worked as a janitor for many years at Brush Creek Lutheran Church.
