Edward L. Nachtigal, Jr., age 89 of Blue River, died August 17, 2026 at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison. He was born on March 7, 1937, the son of Edward Nachtigal, Sr. and Esther (Wallace) Nachtigal. He graduated from Gays Mills High School, and then went into the Navy soon thereafter. One day on shore leave in Kenosha with a friend, Edward happened to see a beautiful woman across the street. He looked over at his friend and said, “I’m going to marry that woman!” And so he did. On April 11, 1959, he married the love of his life, Patricia Kwicinski, daughter of John and Sophie (Lapcewich) Kwicinski of Kenosha. Edward was stationed at San Francisco on the aircraft carrier Midway when their first child was born, Steven, on January 29, 1960.
