Arlene Teresa Nelson born April 12 1930 to Albert Peesel Sr. and Frieda Backeberg Peesel quietly passed away in her sleep on Sunday August 16 2026 following a short illness. On May 17 1947 Arlene was married to Clarence J. Nelson at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Wonewoc WI. Following their honeymoon trip to Yellowstone Park they settled on a farm in Kendall WI where they began their life together. Arlene had a long and fulfilling career. She was a talented hairdresser and proudly owned and operated her own beauty salon in Waukesha WI. Later she and Clarence opened an electronics store in Westfield WI. Family was the heart of Arlenes life. She was an excellent cook and loved nothing more than gathering her family around the table especially for holiday dinners. After graduating from Weston High School Amber worked maintenance for seven years at Grede Foundry and two years at Schreiber Foods in Richland Center. After their marriage she became a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church Loganville. She served as church council treasurer for many years. She was also a member of Ladies Aide. His family moved from Wisconsin when he was four years old and grew up in the Flint MI area. Upon graduation he joined the US Navy Sea Bees. He served on Midway and Adak Islands and Vietnam. After his Sea Bees discharge he met and married Monica Mittlesteadt. They began their life together in the Flint area. Together they had three children. Jim dearly loved his work on power transmission lines. His job was teaching linemen to work on power lines while they were still energized first as a tool demonstrator and later as a Line Superintendent for Basin Electric in Mandan ND. His true passion was restoring old trucks like Mack trucks and the original Klondike truck and getting them back on the road. He traveled with his wife looking for truck parts and searching for pottery and fabric for his wife. They both loved gardening and working on the lawn.
