Jeffrey L. Zillmer age 72 of Marion passed away early Wednesday morning April 1 2026 at Froedtert Medical College of Wisconsin Wauwatosa surrounded by his family. Jeffrey Lee Zillmer was born August 1 1953 in Clintonville WI son to the late Wilbert Willie Patricia Pat Mitchell Zillmer. He grew up with a strong work ethic spending his early years working on the Zillmer family farm. Jeff proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1972 to 1974. As an activeduty rifleman he was stationed in Sicily where he guarded the U.S. Embassy. During his service he earned the National Defense Service Medal and the Expert Shooting Badge. Following his active duty he continued his service in the Marine Corps Reserves until 1978. Upon returning to civilian life Jeff contributed to his community through his work and volunteerism. Merritt Sasse

Merritt G. Sasse age 87 of Clintonville passed away peacefully at his home Friday morning April 3 2026. Merritt Gene Sasse was born on December 23 1938 in Clintonville as the son of the late Benjamin and Olga Hoffmann Sasse. He graduated from Clintonville High School in 1957 and began his painting career right out of school. He was united in marriage to Beverly Piehl on August 1 1959 and the couple resided in Clintonville where Merritt was well known for his painting business that he shared with a few others including his son Mark. If you knew Merritt one of the first things to come to mind aside from his painting career would have to be his love of the outdoors. Louise Staaland

Louise met LeRoy Staaland her senior year at the local dance hall. They married two years later on April 9 1960. They set up their home in Brodhead WI. There they raised 3 children until 1970 when the family moved to Wild Rose WI. Louise worked for Rexs Grocery store. She was a cook for Wild Rose School until she and LeRoy bought the drivein renaming it the Rosewood Inn which they ran for 10 years. Louise then became a librarian for the Patterson Memorial Library which she did for many years before her retirement. Louise was a longtime member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Wild Rose. She was one of the starting members of the Wild Rose Kiwanis chapter. Louise loved listening and dancing to Old Time music. Flowers and birds brought joy to her heart.
