James Gilles

James Jim Gilles age 102 of Waupaca Wisconsin and Englewood Florida passed away on June 20 2026. Born in Bangor on June 2 1924 he was the third child of the late George and Mayme Zimmerman Gilles. Jim graduated from Bangor High School in 1942 and proudly served his country during World War II in the United States Army 106th Division 590th Field Artillery Battalion. In December 1944 he was captured in the Battle of the Bulge and held prisoner until April 29 1945. He was a disabled American veteran and a Purple Heart recipient. Jim met Elaine the love of his life in Milwaukee in 1941 and they married on Thanksgiving Day 1947. In 1949 they moved from Bangor to a 10acre chicken farm at Crystal Lake near Plymouth where they lived for almost 40 years. They worked hard and raised three children produce and chickens. Of Waupaca formerly of Milwaukee age 85 passed away on Wednesday July 1 2026. He was born in Milwaukee on September 10 1940 to the late Victor and Alice Knapp Rauch. Ron was a veteran of the Army. He married Doris Hutyra in Abbott Texas in 1965. Ron worked in the printing industry for over 40 years. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed hunting with his boys. Ron was a member of the Ozaukee County Fish and Game Club for 50 years. He enjoyed sitting around the campfire by the lake and loved talking to people he never met a stranger.
