After moving to Phoenix as a girl she attended ASU and earned her Masters in Public Health from the University of Arizona. She was smart strong and kind. Supremely organized and outgoing her task lists and project binders for everyone and everything were legendary. She was a fierce advocate for the causes and the people she valued. She loved unconditionally. There was no truer friend and no better companion for those who had the honor to know and love her. She is survived by her husband Russ her children Emily William and Katie her parents Ken and Debra and her grandparents Del and Pat. Gary Lange Martin passed away peacefully on March 22, 2026 with his loving wife holding his hand.Born January 11, 1946, in Salem, Oregon to Claude & Loretta Martin, Gary lived life to its fullest with friends and family by his side. He graduated from South Salem High School in 1964. Gary earned a Music Education degree from Oregon Teachers College in Monmouth, Oregon in 1968.Music played an instrumental role in Gary’s life. He proudly served four years in the US Air Force band out of McChord Air Force Base and played (saxophone, clarinet, flute) in countless community parades and visited veterans recovering in hospitals. While living in Dayton, OH, Gary started a 16-piece big band in 2009, which is still playing phenomenal music today. While living in Mill Creek, WA, he volunteered with the Jackson High School Jazz program even if it meant being there at 6 AM every day.…

He is survived by his spouse, Sara Crosby; his sister Donna Haas; daughters: Lara Hartman and her husband Mike Kelly, and their children Melody and Rhapsody; Julia Rogers and her husband Eric, and their children Anderson and Griffin; two step children Michelle Crosby and her husband John Seidl and their son Crosby; and Michael Wayne Crosby and his wife Christine and their sons Milo and Alexander.He attended Upsala College and went on to earn his PhD in cosmic ray physics from the University of Arizona.
