It is with profound sadness and hearts full of love that we announce the passing of Destiny Elizabeth NavarroSomatis our beloved Dezzi who was called home on May 7 2026 at the age of 18. She left this world far too soon but the warmth she brought into the lives of everyone around her will never fade. Destiny was born on January 15 2008 the oldest of three sisters and from the very beginning she wore that role with pride. She was the eldest daughter raised by a devoted mother who gave everything she had for her girls surrounded by the love and support of a closeknit family. Dezzi was her mothers greatest source of pride and her sisters greatest protector. It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Jonathan Gregg Burgess who left us peacefully after a courageous fouryear battle with ALS. Jonathan dedicated over 30 years of service to the City of Sacramento Fire Department culminating his career as a Battalion Chief. He was also a published author of Gold Rush Burgess Family Descendants passionately upholding justice and revealing untold truths about his ancestral land in Coloma. Alongside his twin brother Matthew he cofounded Burgess Brothers sharing cherished recipes from his South Sacramento roots and fostering community connections through his love of food. Jonathan leaves behind his beloved life partner Lauren Brown daughters Justice 23 and Jordan 21 twin brother Matthew Sandie sister Tonia brothers Dwayne Morgan Milton and Ronnie numerous nieces and nephews. Born November 5 1926 in Shepley Wisconsin to parents Hjalmer Ella Stark Matson. Helen passed away on May 13 2026 in Sacramento California at the age of 99. She is survived by her 2 sons Gary Judy Edward Roseanne Fong Spolarich her 3 grandchildren Lindsay Spolarich Joseph Spolarich Jenna Paul Hesterberg 1 stepgranddaughter Lara Greenup Marshall and 2 step greatgrandchildren Samuel Greenup Benjamin Greenup. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph and son Daniel 3 sisters Irene Johnson Harriet Gill Betty McDonald. Helen was an Account Clerk II at the California Employment Development Department EDD for 21 years. She was also an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
