Amanda Kay Branom Torrez affectionately known as Mandy passed away surrounded by her family at her home in Hasty Colorado on August 10 2026 at the age of 58. Mandy was born on November 22 1967 in Las Animas Colorado to William and Peggy Ballard Branom. She was a devoted wife mother grandmother daughter sister aunt and friend whose presence brought love laughter and a little bit of discipline to everyone around her. Mandy was an avid supporter of local and state athletics. She proudly followed the Colorado Avalanche Denver Broncos and Denver Nuggets but her greatest loyalty was to the McClave Cardinals. She rarely missed a McClave Cardinal sporting event and could often be found in the stands cheering on the athletes. Michael Mike Alvin Spady peacefully passed away on July 23 2026 in Pueblo Colorado at the age of 78. Mike was born on September 3 1947 in Las Animas Colorado to Alvin and Virginia Cline Spady. He was raised in Las Animas where he attended school before continuing his education at Colorado State University in Fort Collins. Mike devoted his life to farming and ranching taking great pride in caring for the land and providing for his family. Through decades of hard work determination and unwavering commitment he earned the respect and admiration of those who knew him. Wyanona Faye Patterson Huddleston 94 passed away peacefully at her home in Las Animas Colorado on August 8 2026. She was born on July 9 1932 in Oklahoma to Walter and Irene Spitzer Patterson. In 1936 Wyanonas family moved to the McIntosh Ranch in Bent County where she spent much of her childhood. During her senior year of high school the family moved into Las Animas where she completed her education. Following graduation Wyanona marriedWilliam Frank Huddleston in 1950 in La Junta Co. The newlyweds made their home in Florida and California while Frank completed his military service with the Marine Corps. Following his honorable discharge in 1954 the couple returned to Las Animas where they built their life and raised their family. Wyanona and Frank were blessed with two children Larry and Brenda. James "Jim" Allen Brittain 90 of Las Animas Colorado passed away peacefully at his home on July 17 2026. Jim was born on July 14 1936 in McLouth Kansas to Jim and Elsie Boydston Brittain. Although he was an only child he was surrounded by many cousins and lifelong friends making for a happy and active childhood. Following his graduation from McLouth High School Jim married Mildred "Midge" Merritt on June 6 1954. Together they were blessed with four daughters Susan Mike Rush Karen Larry Greer Rhonda Bob Berry and Jami Champagne. Jims work ethic and dedication were evident throughout his career. He began his professional life as a telegraph operator for the railroad before embarking on a distinguished 35year career with the Colorado Department of Corrections.
