Barbara Ann (Kerrigan) Day, 56, of Newark, Delaware, passed away peacefully at home on October 7, 2026, surrounded by her family and friends. Born on June 21, 1970, in Newark, Delaware, she was the daughter of Patricia and Jim Kerrigan. After a courageous battle with both breast cancer and melanoma, Barb is finally free from pain and at peace, reunited with the Lord.Barb graduated from Christiana High School in 1988, where she enjoyed playing softball and volleyball and participating in the creative arts through school musicals and concert choir. Her love of singing would carry her to All-State Choir. During her high school years, she also made her mark with a Golden Slipper as one of the few female members of several Philadelphia Mummers string bands, playing the accordion as she marched down Broad Street each New Year’s Day.Following high school, Barb attended Wilmington University, where she studied business.
