John Paul Chomiak, Ret. Captain CPD, age 81, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2026, surrounded by his loving family at his side.Beloved husband for 58 years to Rosemary (nee Sheridan). Loving father of John (Laura), Jim (Joanne), Michael (Sarah) Chomiak, Rose (Jim) Green, and Daniel (Brenna) Chomiak. Cherished grandfather of John Robert, Eleanor, Sam, Ryann, Henry, Elle, Kevin, Margo, Elizabeth, Amelia, Charlotte, Emmett and Connor. Fond brother of Michaelene Beaudin and Phillip (Diane) Chomiak. Dear uncle of many nieces and nephews.Proud alumni of Leo High School (Class of 1963), a 30-plus-year veteran of the Chicago Police Department, small business entrepreneur, and loyal Chicago Bears fan.Visitation Saturday October 17th from 9:00 am until time of Mass 11:00 am at St. Barnabas Church, 10134 S.
