Harold Carl Erickson Jr Hal was born November 25 1932 in Chicago IL to Harold Carl Erickson Sr. and Lillian M Erickson surviving infant tuberculosis which was passed to him from his mother. who died from the disease in 1934 when Hal was just 21 months old. He was raised by his grandmother Anna D Erickson and his father. He was baptized at the Tabor Evangelical and Reformed Church in Chicago and attended William P. Gray Elementary School then went on to graduate from Carl Schurz High School in January 1951. As a youth he joined the Illinois DeMolay organization making lifelong friends and later was awarded the highest honor the Degree of Chevalier on May 14 1955. Caryl I. Phillips 96, of Aurora, passed away Thursday February 12, 2026 at Alden Rehab Center. She was born January 14, 1930 in Aurora the daughter of the late Paul and Edith (Rohl) Ziemer and married for 51 years to the late Robert P. Phillips Jr.Caryl was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She graduated from East Aurora High School in 1948. She was employed at Richard Wilcox until the birth of her son. She was a caregiver to all of her relatives as they aged. She was also very involved with Hope Wall School and the Association for Individual Development (AID).
