Deanna D. Ahasic, of Sugar Grove, Illinois, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2026. She was born July 27, 1938, in Elmhurst, Illinois, to Max and Elizabeth Darkin.Deanna is survived by her beloved husband of 58 years, Michael A. Ahasic, whom she married on October 28, 1967, after they met at Indiana University. Together they built a life filled with love, travel, and devotion to family, creating treasured memories around the world and at their home in the Wisconsin Northwoods. Her greatest joy was always her children and grandchildren: Kathleen (Michael) Goheen, Daniel Ahasic, Rebecca Ahasic, and Margaret (Justin) Smith; and her four grandchildren, Grace and Max Goheen, and Ainsley and Bo Smith.A gifted artist and lifelong learner, Deanna earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Marion College and Indiana University.
