Dr. Paul Quay Herwick - beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend passed away peacefully on March 29, 2026 in Batavia, IL. He will be missed by all who knew him.Born May 4, 1938 to Quay and Catherine Herwick and raised in Connellsville PA, Paul graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in Pharmacy and then the George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington DC where he also completed his Surgical residency and met and married his wife Caryl (nee Thompson). After graduation he served in the Army as a surgeon in Viet Nam where he gained extensive experience in vascular surgery and trauma. Eventually settling in Aurora with his young family, Paul was one of the early surgeons recruited during the expansion of Dreyer Clinic. He helped guide Dreyer’s growth to be a model of a successful physician managed multi-specialty clinic, serving several years as clinic president.…
