John was born on Saturday December 9 1950 in Cincinnati son of Albert and Edna Boelling Ryan. John married the love of his life Cliffie Adams Ryan on May 24 1975 and she survives him. John was loved by many and wore many hats throughout his life known affectionately as Dad Big John Uncle John and Papa John depending on who was fortunate enough to know him. John worked as a supervisor for Duke Energy for over 35 years. He was a very involved member of IOK Four Wheelers Gravelrama and he was previously a reserve soccer coach for South Dearborn High School. Sharon A. Starker Adams 80 of Aurora passed away Friday May 15 2026 at St. Elizabeth Hospice Center. Sharon was born on Tuesday May 14 1946 in Milan daughter of Gerald and Leona Mefford Starker. She married the love of her life Steven Adams on November 10 1964 and he survives. Sharon worked as a respiratory therapist for Dearborn County Hospital retired from James B. Wismann Home for Youth and was a member of the Aurora First Baptist Church. She enjoyed looking at and taking photos and loved flowers. She was known to be a wonderful homemaker and was a very good cook. Connie Cottingham 81 of Milan passed away peacefully Friday May 15 2026 at her home with her loving family by her side. Connie was born Saturday January 27 1945 in Milan to Elmer and Hazel Biddle Lauber. She married Don Cottingham and he survives. Connie was passionate about caring for children and the importance of education. She taught fourth grade at Milan Elementary School for twentyfour years where she developed many lifelong friendships. She loved Indiana history and many may remember her nononsense steady but kind demeanor. Connie was a member of the Ripley County Retired Teachers Association and the Milan United Methodist Church. She loved music playing piano at several churches and after retirement took up the harp. She loved to travel taking many trips with her friends Bev Janie and her family.
